Interesting listening to this Lynn. As I was listening my mind went back to when we arrived in London just after people had made the move from Holmsted Manor. We had a vague vision to open a house for needy people. Yes, it was that vague. You sat down with us and asked us what we were planning on doing. After the conversation you gave us a few possible contacts and that was it. I always felt you had the opinion that if God was in this then we would work it out and if He was not then we would probably go back to Australia. We saw God provide in amazing ways.
Also the set up in London that eventually came about was actually a whole group of teams doing various things. Although Paul Miller was ostensibly the London leader there really was no structure. Each team got on with what it felt called to do and team leaders met once a month for fellowship and accountability. In many ways it was very much what you have been talking about in this video.
Can I also add here that your style of leadership was very much one of humility, and very easy to work with. I think sometimes that the higher up a heirarchy a person goes humility seems to depart and pride comes in. What we experienced under your and Marti back then was a freedom to learn and grow in faith and knowledge of the character of God through the establishment of what we felt God call us too. Thank you.
