Lynn, thanks for this consistent message of collaboration that you bring to YWAM. I was at one of our Y-Gatherings (U of N workshop?) in 2007 in Chang Mai, Thailand. You gave a message-in connection to the large wave of young people that many were saying God was wanting to release to grow God’s Kingdom-where you challenged YWAM to be willing to start things, step aside, let others carry it forward, and continue serving and collaborating without receiving any recognition and/or benefits. My take away from your challenge was: To the degree that YWAM is willing to do that (serve and collaborate without focusing on recognition) is the degree that God would continue to use our mission and have his hand of blessing on our mission. That was 17 years ago now. Thanks for being consistent in your message for YWAM to serve as Christ served to grow His Kingdom.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLd2n5dM9T4 If this link doesn’t work try to search on Youtube for Rebirth The Church Liquid Church Better Together. We were part of a few of the Liquid Church Mergers where a live, active, fruitful group joined with an older group that had dwindled in numbers and spent most of their time with upkeep of an old building and large property. The two merged with specific honoring and releasing strategic moves in place to make a 15 person church turn into a 500 member church with 100 baptisms of new believers in the first year. This applies to YWAM in that we have a growing number of empty campuses with older folks holding on to “the old days” and “the old ways” much like a dying church. We feel that doing this same concept with the leading of the Holy Spirit would work in many of the YWAM campuses if promoted as a option to our younger leaders who are leading large groups of on-fire newbies with no idea where to go or what to do. We were part of a healthy generational transfer in multiple arenas as well as rebirthing and starting multiple alternative churches while at the same time being urban missionaries and running a missions base in NYC area. Hope this is a helpful resource to YWAM campuses that need a rebirth. A book to go along with this short simple few minute video explanation is called: Better Together by Bird.
