    Ouch.

In all my years have never heard and been hit by such a direct challenge to my “White Lies”, which I intended to protect relationships and (in my mind) people around me.

I am 68 years old, became a Christian at Millmead in Guildford in the UK under David Pawson and first came across YWAM in 1972 through Tim and Janice Scott, and spent a lot of 1978 with Charlie and Janice Green at Cimarron, Colorado USA on a rough DTS. I have been to hundreds of cutting edge church conferences and been a disciple under many prominant biblical teachers.

For all my many experiences of God in powerful ways including miracles, having worked with Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, and still working in a charity I created for Bill Gates and with another led by His Majesty King Charles III (and him personally), I am still guilty of not walking completely “in the light”.

How easily I slip into saying what I feel other people want to hear from me! It is not only to try and avoid my embarrassment, but often to avoid their embarrassment (which I feel I do out of the kindness of my heart, but it is still lying). It is also to see if I can get them to feel better about me, and sometimes themselves.

It makes me wonder why do soldiers tell their fatally wounded comrades that “Every thing’s going to be alright” and “You’ll be fine”, when they are clearly not OK and are going to die?

    All a bit difficult.

PS. What would you say if in World War II your family was in occupied Europe hiding Jews, and Nazi soldiers came to your door and asked if you had any Jews in your house, knowing you would all be killed if the said “Yes”?

And did Jesus tell Satan the whole truth when being tempted? Is Satan had known the consequences of the cross, would Satan have engineered it subsequently leading to Satan’s own downfall?

We can imagine situations in which telling the truth would lead to awful consequences, as you did in the first half of the PS above. But, I have been in situations like that and find that there has always been a way out. I think I will tell the story of one of those occasions on my Live Stream this coming Friday.
