Thanks for this good teaching. I’ve been also thinking:-
It’s interesting and a challenge that amongst the submission ‘couplets’ =
Christian to righteousness of God. People to Governing authorities. Wives to husbands, Persons submit to God, younger to elder,
That we read these also:
submitting to one another in the fear of God.
Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”
The challenge to leadership who have the biblical direction that others are meant to submit to them, is to check how often they visit
and give attention to the fact that submission goes across the board as it were. All of it calling for The Holy Spirit to rest and rule upon us all regardless of ‘position’.
Thanks very much, Ken. I couldn’t agree more. If we hold fast to the vital claim of “the priesthood of all believers”, then we must embrace the command to SUBMIT TO ONE ANOTHER. (Ephesians 5:21)
